New Franken is an unincorporated community in Brown County, Wisconsin, United States.It is part of the Green Bay Metropolitan Statistical Area.Dave Zuidmulder, NFL football player, was born in New Franken. New Franken is located in the towns of Scott, Green Bay, and Humboldt, and is located on the Wisconsin-Minnesota border. It is located near the junction of the Wisconsin and Minnesota rivers, the Wisconsin Turnpike and the Wisconsin Dells, and the U.S. Wisconsin-Port Huron River, which runs through the town of New Franken and into the Town of Scott. The town of Scott was once known as "New Franken" and was founded in the 1800s. It was named after the town's first postmaster, William "Frank" Franken, who moved to the area in the 19th century. The community is home to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay's football team, the Packers, who play in the NFL's NFC North division and the Super Bowl XLVIII champion Packers. It also has a post office, with the ZIP code of 7053. It has a population of 2,816. It's located in Brown county, in the north-central part of Wisconsin, near the border with Minnesota and the state of Wisconsin. The city of Green Bay is in the northern part of Brown County. Dave Zuidmulder, NFL football player, was born in New Franken. He played for the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers. He was also a member of the U.S. Army National Guard. He died in a car accident in 2010. He is survived by his wife and two children. He also has a son, David, who played football in the NFL for the New York Giants and the New England Patriots for the Philadelphia Eagles for 10 years. He has a daughter, Emily, who is also a football player for the Giants and Philadelphia Eagles. He had a son named David, also a NFL player, who died in 2010 in a vehicle accident in New Jersey.
