Its development was aided by Monroe H. Kulp (1922-1977) The mayor of Kulpmont has been Nicholas Bozza since 2005. The mayor is served by 7 council people. The town is located at 40°4735N 76°2824W (40.793177, -76.473440). It was incorporated August 24, 1915. It has a population of 2,985, with 1,338 households, and 837 families. History

The Borough of Kulpmont was incorporated August 24, 1915. Its development was aided by Monroe H. Kulp. The Borough's name is derived from the word "kulp" which means "knee" or "kneel" in English. It was named for the town's first postmaster, Monroe Kulp, who was also the Borough's first mayor. It is located on the banks of the Ohio River. The borough's name means "Kulpmont" in French and "Kilp" in German. It has a population of about 2,000 people, mostly residents of the town of 1,000. It also has a small portion of the City of Cleveland, Ohio, where it has about 1,200 residents. The town's name comes from the name of its first post-office, which was opened in 1881. It's also known as the Borough of Kulp or Kulp in English, and was named after Kulp's son, Monroe, who helped to found the borough in 1915. The city's name translates to "kilp", which means 'knee' in English and "kulp" in Polish. It means "little town" in the local language. It became a borough in 1916.
